With both pilot cohorts underway, Mass ParentCorps is turning to its next phase: building the statewide infrastructure to bring parent leadership pathways to scale across Massachusetts. This work is organized around three working areas — Framework & Curriculum, Funding & Policy, and Evaluation & Research — led by a newly formed coalition of partners, funders, and parent leaders.

Mass ParentCorps launches its first credentialing cohort in partnership with Urban College on June 17, 2026 — 20 parent leaders from across Massachusetts, Wednesdays 6:30–8:30 PM via Zoom. A second cohort is planned. Update — September 2026: Both cohorts are now underway. Cohort 1 completed its credentialing course with Urban College of Boston; Cohort 2 began in Fall 2026 with Middlesex Community College. Together, 39 parent leaders are enrolled across the two cohorts, representing 15 sponsor agencies and 15+ other partner organizations statewide.
In January 2026, Mass ParentCorps conducted six focus groups with 27 parent leaders — four in English, two in Spanish — representing five community-based organizations. Key findings: parent leaders are building workforce-ready skills without formal recognition, and there is strong demand for credentials, paid roles, and college credit.
Urban College of Boston is the named partner for the credit-bearing course — offering 3–6 college credits through HUS110: Core Competencies for Community Behavioral Health Workers. Credits are applicable toward future certificates, associate's degrees, and advanced degrees.
